The maps will be as follows and will be played in 16-player size

Group Stages:

  • Daqing Oilfields
  • Dalian Plant
  • Songhua Stalemate
  • Dragon Valley
  • Sharqi Peninsula

Quarter Finals: Mashtuur City

Semi Finals: Gulf of Oman

Final: Strike At Karkand

The group stage maps will be in the order above, however if there are not enough teams in a division then maps will be removed from the bottom starting with Sharqi, also if there are more teams in a division we will bring the other maps into play.

For more information about the maps used in BF2, click here.

Rules

The format of the tournament will be starting with four groups, the top two from each group will go through to the quarter finals, followed by semis and then the final. A third place playoff will also be held.

Each clan will play the other clans in their group once. The clans will be seeded as required into different groups, judged by the admins experience of the clan. At the end of the group stage, the 1st placed teams will play the 2nd placed teams from one of the other divisions. The winners will progress to the Semi Finals. The winners of the semi finals will move to the final where the losers will play in the third place play off.

Each match consists of 2x20 minute rounds over 1 map.

All matches are to be 8 v 8. In the event of a forfeit/default, the winning team will be awarded 100% of the available tickets. The team listed first on the fixture list is to play as USMC in the first round and then switch to the other side for the second half of the match.

All Group games are to be played on Saturday starting at 10 AM. There will be a break for lunch half-way through the days games. Quarter-Finals and Semi-Finals are aimed at being complete on the Sat if possible, if not will be played on Sunday.

All Clan Leaders (or their representative) will be informed as to any changes in the schedule. It is up to clans to stay in contact with their clan leader about their next game, and ensure they are in the server and ready to play by the stated time. All matches must start within 15 minutes of the stated time, otherwise the match will start anyway at the discretion of the admin.

In the event that you cannot field a full team of 8, you may ask your opponent if they will play with less, however the opposing team is within their right to field their full team of 8, no team that has 8 available will be forced to play with less.

It is down to each competitor to ensure that their game is working correctly before the day of the tournament, we recommend that you use teh Friday of the event to ensure all is working as it should

It is your responsibility to ensure you check the schedules on the intranet for your next match.

Please Note: No schedules are final until the match is underway. There are many factors which may affect game start times, but we will do our best to keep everything running to schedule.

Scoring is by tickets, with the final tickets from each round being added together to create the final score. Clan Leaders must at least make a note of the final ticket scores, but screen shots are preferable. This is an absolute necessity at this event, as not all games will be actively monitored and there is no IRC reporter bot yet. Ticket results are important due to the league format of the tournament, and as such, both clan leaders must agree on the final score.

Format:

  • All forms of cheating are strictly prohibited - any player found to be cheating will forfeit the current match for their clan and be removed from the all MPUK tournaments for the duration of the event, in accordance with the MPUK Cheating policy.
  • Hanger camping, base camping and spawn killing are not against the rules. Your best defence is don't let it happen to you.
  • Punkbuster WILL be running on all the servers, so you must enable Punkbuster on your client in Multiplayer Options. This facility may be removed at the admin's discretion pending PunkBuster's stability at the time. All games must still be played in good faith.
  • Unlocked Weapons will be turned off for the duration of the tournament, this means you will not be able to use any of the weapons you have unlocked during online play.
  • There will be NO break between rounds; once a match has started you play both rounds without stopping.
  • Spawn Blocking is NOT permitted in this tournament

The game will be played using the latest FULL patch available at 09:00am Friday, at the admin's discretion (No Beta Patches will be used during this tourmanent). The latest patch will be available on the MPUK Event FTP. All games will be played with the following server settings:

  • Spawn Time: 15s
  • Ticket Ratio: 200
  • Friendly Fire: On
  • Auto Balance: Off
  • Friendly Mine Damage: On

Battlerecorder will be on and will upload to a site hosted by Multiplay in London, so demos will be accessible after the event.

When it is necessary the spirit in which the rules are written takes precedence over the written letter. When common sense dictates it exceptions can be made to the tournament rules at the discretion of the Head Admin. It is impossible to foresee all eventualities and in the event of a situation not covered by the rules the Head Admin will make a decision on the issue in keeping with the spirit of the i-series tournaments and the interests of fairness.
I-series Battlefield tournaments have always been about fun first, glory second. This will continue with the i28 Battlefield 2 tournament.
