Battle of the Rock Bands | View Comments (10)Posted on 24 July 2008 @ 13:07 by Elbonio Fancy yourself as a bit of a rock star? Perhaps you have a need to be on a stage giving your all? Maybe you have a knack for timing-based music games? If any of these are true, you'll probably be interested in our Rock Band tournament, taking place during the i34/M Festival launch party on the Friday night. Gemma Atkinson will be on our panel of judges and extra points are awarded for style, showmanship, band name and so on. There are only 16 team spaces so if you're interested make sure you read all about it and get registered. Attention Midlanders! | View Comments (2)Posted on 22 July 2008 @ 19:41 by Elbonio Calling all those in the Midlands - we're popping round this weekend and next weekend to play some games, k? This coming weekend we'll be at the Coventry West Orchards Shopping Centre, on both the 26th and 27th of July. There'll be some free-play games machines there for you to get into the M Festival mood! Bring your friends along, give us five minutes to tell them about the event and have them chomping at the bit to come! The weekend after (which is August 2nd-3rd) we'll be at the Bullring in Birmingham with the World Cyber Games. You can qualify for PGR4 (2 slots, fastest lap time each day), FIFA 08 (2 slots, winner of a tournament each day), Need For Speed: ProStreet (2 slots, fastest lap time each day) and Guitar Hero 3 (2 slots, highest score from each day). PGR4, NFS: ProStreet and Guitar Hero 3 will run all day but if you would like to play in the FIFA 08 tournament then you need to have registered by 1pm and be ready to play in the tournament from 1pm to 2:30pm. There will be free-play machines at Birmingham too so if you don't fancy competing then you can just play for fun! Once again bring along friends and we'll entice them to come to the M Festival. Muahahahahhaha. Gemma Atkinson to open M Festival! | View Comments (20)Posted on 21 July 2008 @ 16:52 by Elbonio
Gemma Atkinson is coming to the M Festival and will be "cutting the ribbon" for us! Gemma’s first acting role playing Lisa Hunter on Hollyoaks placed her in the public eye and she has been firmly there ever since. She was a popular character in Hollyoaks, playing Lisa for five years and proving her credentials as an actress covering topics of self-harm and bereavement. Due to her characters popularity Gemma continued with late night Hollyoaks show, Hollyoaks: in the City. Gemma also has a part in Brit-Flick 'Boogie Woogie' out in August, her 2009 calendar is out in September and she'll be playing 'Peter Pan' at the Royal Manchester Opera House in December. Gemma is also an avid gamer in her spare time and is thrilled to be opening such an important milestone for the European gaming scene. i35 dates announced | View Comments (24)Posted on 16 July 2008 @ 17:02 by Elbonio Just a quick note to say that we have confirmed the i35 dates and venue. It is going to be from October 31st to November 3rd 2008 and will be at Stoneleigh Park. With a capacity for 2,000 gamers the spooky Halloween Friday will be something of an interesting LAN ;) A more official and grand announcement/launch is to be made in the near future, but we wanted to let you know the dates first as they are different to the provisional ones we had posted on the forums previously. New CS: Source pick-up channel | Add CommentPosted on 16 July 2008 @ 16:58 by Elbonio Adding to our highly popular pick-up channels for Call of Duty 4 and Team Fortress 2, we have just started the service for Counter-Strike: Source. The channel can be found on Quakenet IRC and is called #mpukcss.pickup - working alongside our#mpukcod4.pickup and #mpuktf2.pickup channels. These have all proved to be invaluable tools for the community and we're hoping the CS:S players find it just as useful! |
